Hollie Cook and Prince Fatty Release 7" for Record Store Day

 Amongst the mélange of exciting 7" set for release this Saturday for Record Store Day is a cover from Hollie Cook and Prince Fatty. They will be releasing a cover of The Andrews Sisters 'For Me You Are', transforming this swing classic to a fresh sounding reggae ska track. Side A features the version which will be released on Prince Fatty's anticipated new album "Prince Fatty Vs The Drunken Gambler", whilst the B side is the dub version from Hollie Cook's album 'In Dub'. The 7" and the albums are all released on Mr Bongo.

Hollie Cook's self-titled debut album has been out for a number of months now, and if you have't already heard it I urge you to. Hollie self coined the term 'tropical pop' for her music due to her influences of reggae and 60s girl groups.

The album was produced by Prince Fatty and released by Mr Bongo who previously cited it as one of the three key points in the record label's history.

For those of you in London she is playing at the 'Jazz Cafe' 5 Parkway on Thursday 10th November. For those of you (like me) unable to make such a pilgrimage, she is going to be on Later With Jools Holland tonight, 8th November. So do watch, or watch again thanks to the joys of technology.
