Young rapper Capital STEEZ suicide

Capital STEEZ - the 19-year-old rapper tweeted his intentions at midnight on Sunday 23rd December. tweeting "The End."  Capital Steez, was a member of up-and-coming Brooklyn rap group Pro Era. Though the rapper's suicide has been confirmed, the cause of death still remains unknown.

So, back in 2006 when I was still rapping(in Slovene), I sampled ''Don't Let Me Down'' by The Beatles and later on recorded lyrics over it. The beat was very simple, adapted for rap vocals so I decided to revisit it, remove my raps and add a bunch of other live instruments, synths and samples to it, so you guys can enjoy it in instrumental form without it being boring. It's a downtempo hip-hop flavored banger that continues the evolution of collage sampling combined with live instrumentation and synthesis. Hope you guys like it. -G.

Franko Fraize - Hand Me Downs

Thetford rapper Franko Fraize has dropped this spanking new music video filmed in his hometown, Directed by Tom J Cronin. There has been a lot of buzz over Franko Fraize the last couple of months as he's been featured on BBC Introducing and various of music blogs. Check out his latest track 'Hand Me Downs'.

Nas - 'The Don'

In the last week or so I've really struggled to find many great new tracks to shout about, hence the reason why the blog has been so quiet. However, at last I have found something that I like, and a track I consider worthy of a post! I'm not the biggest fan of modern rap, but I've always had a soft spot for a few rap/hip-hop artists, one of them being Nas. Modern day rap (the kind saturated with lyrics about rims, bling, money and hoes) really isn't my cup of tea, so when I hear something good like this it really stands out. Nas has apparently finished his forthcoming LP but we are as yet to hear any details of a release date. Check out his latest offering below!

Gonjasufi - 'The Blame' video

Gonjasufi has just dropped a video for one of his latest tracks, “the Blame.” The track is from his recent mini-album, MU.ZZ.LE which is out now on Warp Records. I'm really loving the filters used in this video, it makes even the most dull scenes look fantastic. If you haven't heard MU.ZZ.LE yet, definitely check it out.

Free Pretty Lights download 'We Must Go On'

Derek Vincent Smith, better known as Pretty Lights, has released a new song. And as he does, 'We Must Go On' is available online for free!

Smith, who's originally from Colorado and first started making music in 2006, makes all his wonderful music available for free on his website.

The video to the song takes bits and pieces from his travels in 2011, featuring images from New York, London, Paris, Oslo, Warsaw and Auckland. Download the song on Pretty Light's website or watch the video below.
