They will be releasing a cover of The Andrews Sisters 'For Me You Are', transforming this swing classic to a fresh sounding reggae ska track. Side A features the version which will be released on Prince Fatty's anticipated new album "Prince Fatty Vs The Drunken Gambler", whilst the B side is the dub version from Hollie Cook's album 'In Dub'. Secret 7" Artwork

Secret 7” is an exciting project which combines music and art.

As part of Record Store Day, Secret 7” aims to reignite some of the lost excitement of record sleeves in the digital age.

The Idea Generation Gallery in London’s Shoreditch is exhibiting roughly 700 seven-inch sleeves inspired by the tracks of 7 bands: The Cure, Noah & The Whale, Florence & The Machine, DJ Shadow, Ben Howard, CSS and Bombay Bicycle Club. These are on display from Wednesday 18th April until Sunday the 22nd from 10am-6pm.

The air of mystery or the ‘secret’ in the Secret 7” is that no-one will know which artist designed which sleeve or which of the seven tracks is housed inside. Although, I think this one you might be able to guess.

As well as supporting independent record stores and vinyl sales these sleeves will be available to buy next Saturday, 21st April- Record Store Day- until Sunday 22nd April, for a minimum donation of £40 to Teenage Cancer Trust.

The sleeves were designed by artists, designers, musicians and teenagers whom the Teenage Cancer Trust has helped.

Below is one of the seven tracks, all seven can be found on the here.

A Bag Of Hammers

With rumours we’d lost him to the land of the thespians forevermore we have great news on the whereabouts of everyone’s favourite folkster- Johnny Flynn. Last year’s SXSW Festival debuted David Crano’s A Bag Of Hammers which was received well. It has emerged that Johnny Flynn (or, ‘our Johnny’) scored the film. The film stars Britain’s own Rebecca Hall (Starter for 10, Vicky, Christina, Barcelona) alongside Jason Ritter and Jake Sandvig. This comedy looks to be slightly on quirky side, with the usual misfit antiheros and is set for release in the UK in mid May. The film has not received the best reviews, only 4.2 on IMDB, but that’s not to say we have any reason to doubt the film’s musical score.

With his albums A Larum and Been Listening both tirelessly wonderful, we can only expect further musical greatness from the Sussex lad. Earlier this year it was announced that he has been nominated for a coveted Olivier Award and he has been cast for two more plays; Richard the III and Twelfth Night both at Shakespeare’s Globe. Leaving Toystereo to wonder, is there anything he can’t do?

Johnny Flynn’s ‘A Bag Of Hammers Soundtrack’ will be released as a limited edition vinyl on the 21st April on Transgressive Records. It is being released as part of Record Store Day; an internationally observed day when artists do in store performances, signings and special record-only releases. For this special release Johnny will be giving a special store performance in London’s Rough Trade East record store.
