Adult Swim heave created this dreamy animated clip for Neon Indian's track "Fallout", taken from his recent LP Era Extraña. The track sounds very 80s, something that wouldn't be out of place on the Drive soundtrack. Check it out below.
After posting some teasers of Alan Palomo's latest Neon Indian efforts I have been keeping an eye out for the first full track to surface. Well, here it is. "Hex Girlfriend" is slightly less oozing and psychedelic than some of his earlier work, pushing him firmly into the genre that everyone now refers to as chillwave; I'm unsure if this is a good or a bad thing. There is, however, a nice use of 8bit sounds throughout the track.
He is touring in the US and Canada for the next few months, but lets keep our fingers crossed for an announcement of some European dates later on in the year.
Just saw over on the Transgressive site that there are a few teaser videos for Neon Indian's forthcoming LP, Era Extrana, scheduled for release on October 10th. Recorded in Helsinki in the winter of 2010, the album is said to possess a darker sound to Psychic Chasms - his dreamy, psychedelic debut.
If you are lucky enough to live in the US, you can see him on tour with Com Truise when the album is released. Check out the dates here.
Below is a track from his 2009 debut, Psychic Chasms.
After discovering The Antlers a couple of weeks ago, I'm hooked. I'm really excited to hear their forthcoming album, 'Burst Apart' - especially after coming across this awe-inspiring 8-mintue colab with Neon Indian. The video is an extended rendition of the track 'Rolled Together' but with an electrofied twist. I'm absolutely loving the camera work too, unmistakably shot with a DSLR. Reminds me, I need to get filming with my new 600D.
