Lana Del Rey feat. Azealia Banks - 'Blue Jeans' (Smims & Belle extended remix)

When two of the biggest acts of 2012 collaborate to cover a track which has already been a smasher, we're hardly going to skim over it. This has been in the pipeline for weeks, to the point where we were losing faith, but the duo delivered and banzai, Lana and Azealia bring us this new take on 'Blue Jeans'.

As if this project wasn't exciting enough, the track has involved some staggeringly big names. Under the alias Smims & Belle, Mark Foster and Isom Innis of Foster the People have taken on a sideline job, ripping this track up and in the process have proved it can be regurgitated as something utterly unrecognisable from the original.

2012 is looking up!

And now for round 2 of Lana Del Rey! On Tuesday I posted the Mulberry Session for Lana Del Rey's track "Born To Die", and now the official video has just been released. You can tell Interscope have really dug deep into their pockets for this one. Visually the video is quite impressive - I'm loving how vivid the colours are but the video as a whole is quite boring.

Vocally I prefer the Mulberry Session over the official track, I just don't feel there's the same emotion in her voice. Definitely worth a watch, if at least to compare.

Lana Del Rey - 'Born To Die' (Mulberry Session)

Check out this video of Lana Del Ray performing a stripped-down version of her forthcoming single "Born To Die". The video was captured over the weekend, poolside at the Chateau Marmont hotel in Hollywood. She has a fantastic voice, there's no doubt about that, but everything I've heard from her since "Video Games" is slightly disappointing - however this video is an exception. This stripped-down version of the track really allows you to focus on her amazing voice.

Lana Del Ray's debut album is due out on January 30th and the single "Born To Die" is out January 23rd.

Check out this whacky remix of the recently posted "Video Games" track by Lana Del Rey. Personally, I don't think it comes close to the original but I do still like it nonetheless - mainly for the layered pitch-shifted vocals throughout, making this a really interesting take on a great track.

Wow... Just wow.

I was just told to listen to this track about an hour ago - and how incredibly grateful I am. I hate to think that music this great can somehow escape my attention. Maybe once the alcohol wears off I won't be so smitten, but for now, I literally cannot stop playing it.

New York singer-songwriter Lizzy Grant, otherwise known as Lana Del Rey, is seriously one female artist to watch out for. "Video Games" is to be released October 9th on Stranger Records.
