Well I'm glad he's finally got round to it. This is a great little edit by Ta-ku of Daughter's track "LOVE LOST". Elena Tonra's vocals for Daughter are absolutely beeea-utiful. OH and it's free to download.

Elena Tonra, better known by her stage name Daughter has easily one of the most beautiful voices I have heard in a while making this track very special indeed. "Medicine" is the second track from her upcoming EP titled The Wild Youth.

Daughter: download new track, 'Love' free

I'm all about the female vocalists right now, but one that I've been into for a little while now is Daughter.  The first time I saw her was a couple of years ago, and she was still called Elena Tonra and her hair was still ginger.  I saw her at one of the lovely Communion nights at Notting Hill Arts Club, and was blown away by her voice, which made her stand out in a sea of charming but often forgettable 'folk'.  I chatted to her briefly after the show had finished, while queuing for chips and was equally impressed by how down to earth and sweet she was.

Like I said, a couple of years have passed and whilst her voice is instantly recognisable, it has noticeably matured - obtaining a depth of sound that wasn't quite there when I first encountered her.  In addition, her overall sound has come a long way - with a set-up that compliments and accentuates the eeriness that her voice has always had.  Have a little listen to her new track, Love, taken from her forthcoming The Wild Youth EP (out on 21st November 2011 via Communion Records) and if you like what you hear you can download it free from her Soundcloud page.  And, if you are anything like me, and one of the things you look forward to the most about Christmas is live music coupled with mince pies, mulled cider and mittens, then you'll be just as excited by her upcoming Daughter & Friends Chrismas Shows, happening in Manchester, Bristol and London.
