It's been a long time since a track has really jumped out at me. The last one I can remember was way back last year when I heard Gotye's Somebody That I Used To Know (remember folks, you heard it here first).
I knew within the first 30 seconds of hearing this that I just had to share it; people need to hear this. The soft, subtle vocals remind me of some of the more introspective Bob Dylan tracks, and are perhaps even a little Springsteenesque in places? The pad sounds are simple, rich and warm, giving the track an anthemic 80's sheen. But most notable about this version are the chords and melody Duke Dumont has added to the track, they seem to conjure so much emotion - nostalgia, longing, hope? Maybe none of these, I don't know. But there is definitely something in this track that's just feels so wholesome and refreshing.
Enjoy this one, tracks like these are rare.
