Battles 'My Machines' Feat. Gary Numan Video

I'm always partial to a bit of experimental rock group Battles, especially when they pull hilarious and original videos such as this one out the bag.

The bizarrely humorous concept is pure genius, albeit a little whacky - but that's what makes this video so unique. The green-tinged post, coupled with the VHS style aesthetics makes for a perfect finish to an already brilliant music video.

I half feel sorry for the stuntman, having to fall down an escalator continuously for 4 minutes. I wonder if the blood is genuine?

Produced by The Studio in collaboration with Warp Records, we paired Battles with directoral duo Daniels, who are known for dreaming up some wild music videos for bands like Chromeo and Manchester Orchestra, as well as a slew of short and endearing films that manage to warp reality just enough to catch you slightly off guard.

Battles on La Blogotheque

There are some bands you just don't expect to see on La Blogotheque, and electronic math-rock titans Battles are just one of those.

Forget the quiet streets of Montmartre, or the back room of a sleepy cafe. We are talking about an epic hall in The Hotel de Ville, full volume, with full amplification. This is not your usual La Blogotheque session. This is far from it.
