Beat Connection - 'Lotus Blossom' - Free download

Just came across this absolutely gorgeous track by Beat Connection, titled "Lotus Blossom". My only criticism is the track is FAR too short, forcing me to play it atleast 3 times in a row every time I listen to it. Utterly perfect for a lazy summer's Sunday.

Korallreven - Sa Sa Samoa (feat. Julianna Barwick) video

Korallreven have just dropped this video for their utterly beautiful track "Sa Sa Samoa" which was released late last year. There's no shortage of ultra slo mo in this one. Although I just about enjoyed the video, I can't help but feel if played at normal speed it would be incredibly dull and only last about 20 seconds. However, the fantastic track more than makes up for the slightly underwhelming video.

Nicolas Jaar - "Materials" video

Check out this unofficial video directed by Pondr for Nicolas Jaar's track "Materials". It features a child version of Jaar wondering around encountering flying trumpets and clowns, eventually bumping into the adult version of himself at the end. If you're scared of clowns you might not want to watch this.

Free emancipator download "Elephant Survival"

What a better way to start the new year than with some free music? Portland-based producer emancipator, who made a name for himself in 2006 with Soon it will be cold enough to build fires, recently released a new remix called "Elephant Survival". And the best thing: It's free.

The remix uses samples of the song "Forgiveness" by Colorado-based folk bank Elephant Rivival (hence the title...), which is very VERY different from emancipators version, and may I say not as charming as the remix suggests.

Ghostly 2011 Selected

The fine people at Ghostly posted this epic playlist a few days ago. It features tracks from Shigeto, Tycho, Matthew Dear, Com Truise, Jacaszek, Mux Mool, Gold Panda HTRK and remixes by Nicolas Jaar, Star Slinger, Teen Daze and King Midas Sound.

If you don't have the Ghostly iPhone app yet, I strongly recommend you download it. It automatically generates a playlist for you depending on your mood and desired listening tempo.

I Break Horses 'Hearts' (Bedroom Sessions)

Bella Union have just put out this pretty cool bedroom session from I Break Horses. As you may have figured by now, we love I break Horses at Toy Stereo and we also have a soft spot for these kinds of live performances filmed in really mundane areas. The last one that really blew me away was the "Rolled Together" cut by The Antlers and Neon indian recorded in their NYC flat. The thing that I really love about The Antlers video though, is the drawn-out electrified adaptation of the original track and the incredible enthusiasm they put into the performance. The I Break Horses video however, doesn't have the same effect - but that's not to say I didn't enjoy the video. The superb track makes up for it anyway.
